Gave bitcoin a shot on purchases

Just took a shot in the dark and used Bitcoin to purchase a cycle offline. Downloaded a wallet, bought the bitcoin, went thru the whole purchase process with the vendor and at the end there was a bitcoin payment address that I clicked on and asked for approval on payment. I agreed but there wasn’t a confirmation code. Should I expect a confirmation? Funds definitely left my bitcoin wallet. Really hope i get the cycle!!! Really excited
Edit: vendor site says “awaiting bitcoin payment” even though the right $ was taken out of my wallet

Accepting a debit/credit card payment with a Bitcoin Address?

Might sound far fetched, but is there any way that a customer can purchase an item online using their credit/debit card and it be transferred directly into the sellers bitcoin wallet?
I'm new to the whole blockchain thing.

Accidentally sent bitcoin from an external wallet to the payment processing bitcoin address that was used by cash app to get the bitcoin for me originally and is not showing up in my cash app account.

If anyone can shed some light on this issue, that would be great. I am worried that I will not be able to get this bitcoin back.

Bitcoin shopping cart software

I've been designing websites for 10+ years, and just received a project request from a client to integrate a bitcoin shopping cart. I don't have much experience with bitcoin but was wondering if anyone can recommend bitcoin/crypto shopping cart software.

The client specifically mentioned a shopping cart that generates a bitcoin payment address along with a scannable QR code. Any and all recommendations would be appreciated.

Sunday question for Bitcoin newcomers: When receiving a Bitcoin payment, can you see the address the payment is from?

Answer?
Absolutely. As long as the transaction is broadcast to the network, then everything is immediately viewable on the blockchain. Just visit any blockchain explorer like Blockchair — Universal blockchain explorer and search engine -- then enter your transaction ID, you will be able to see the sending address.
In fact, just opening your wallet and viewing the details should also give you this.
Better still, using a blockchain explorer to view your Bitcoin address shows ALL transactions sending and receiving, including all addresses. These cannot be hidden in Bitcoin’s blockchain!

3 step instructions to becoming anonymous.

Here:
1.) Go discretely buy a burner phone with cash.. - do these really exist anymore? - Which one and where to buy it - no email activations, personal info, etc.
2.) Download BRD app on new phone and get bitcoin payment address - does this require any personally identifying info?
3.) Go to physical Bitcoin ATM and buy coins using the new phone number to authenticate. - I tried this once with a BitcoinDepot ATM, but the ATM required a phone number to continue to send a text to, at which point I stopped.
Done.
Now I am ready to pay and receive anonymously.
I’m new to this so you guys tell me, will this work? If not, what do I need to change?
Also- if I want to preserve capital in Bitcoin as an investment / apocalypse prep, I just need to write down the key to my big wallet and throw it in my safe. Trash the phone and I can always access it later?

US Gov: Verify your bitcoin address and receive your $1,200 via bitcoin payment in 24 hours. Would you do it?

Just wondering how you would feel if given the opportunity to do something like this. Why would you do it? Why wouldn't you? And by verify, you would need to send some official way so your bitcoin address is attached to your identity.

Brian Hoffman: "People suggesting that Facebook use Bitcoin [Core] instead of Libra is kind of confusing to me. I mean even if Lightning scales to their level, how could they support peer to peer payments without addressing the invoice-less payments issue? This seems prohibitive (not insurmountable)

Mycelium announces Mycelium Gear

Mycelium proudly announces the release of its first online service, Mycelium Gear, based on the Straight Server developed by Roman Snitko, who has joined our team and is now leading this project.
Mycelium Gear is a merchant processor which demonstrates something that has never been possible before Bitcoin: the ability for merchants to use a full featured merchant processor to receive payments online, and have the money go straight into their own wallets, even if that wallet is running on their own phone in their pocket. Mycelium Gear does not hold any money on the merchant’s behalf, meaning there are no days of waiting for the money to arrive into your bank account, no risk of money being lost by the merchant processor, no need to fill out applications where you give out tons or personal information, and no complicated restrictive policies. All of this means that the costs of running this service are almost zero, which is also what it costs for you to use it: it’s absolutely free. It’s simplicity also means that it’s very easy to set up: you can have it up and running on your site within minutes.
Mycelium Gear relies on the unique benefits of BIP32 HD wallets, which use a single unique random number, called a seed, to generate a list of public bitcoin addresses (called an xpub key), and a corresponding list of private keys (xpriv key) for each of those addresses. When using Mycelium Gear, you give it only the xpub key that generates a unique bitcoin address for each customer invoice, while you keep the private xpriv key - the part that actually allows you to spend that money - only in your own wallet. Mycelium Gear also allows you to set your prices in other currencies, such as USD and EUR, and automatically adjust the amount of bitcoin for the invoice based on the bitcoin price at the time of purchase. When a purchase is made, Mycelium Gear presents the customer with an invoice with a bitcoin address to send their payment to. When the invoice is paid, Mycelium Gear monitors the public Bitcoin blockchain and notifies the merchant’s web store when a payment is detected. Since all bitcoin payment addresses are those of the merchant’s own private wallet, Mycelium Gear never needs to interact with any money directly.
Mycelium Gear is designed for both basic and advanced users. For basic users without a lot of programming experience, it provides an easy step-by-step walkthrough that creates a widget they can easily copy/paste into their website. For more advanced users, Mycelium Gear has a full API, including detailed documentation on how to implement it into your own shopping cart software.
Mycelium’s hope is that Gear will encourage even more merchants to adopt bitcoin and completely change the way merchant transactions are done, thus continuing our goal of decentralizing everything, improving privacy, and eliminating unnecessary third parties in the Bitcoin economy.

Its pretty common for anyone transacting in bitcoin to simply send the bitcoin address and USD amount to the sender/client to receive the payment. But this method is risky and you can potentially get scammed.

I have been using bitcoin payments for a while now and most of the times, I simply share my bitcoin address and amount. This is a very common practice and most people use this method to transact with each other. There usually is no problem with this method if the two people know each other but while transacting between unknown people there is potential to get scammed and receive less bitcoin.
To safeguard your payment and make sure you receive the right amount the best method would be to use a bitcoin invoice. It makes sure you get the right amount sent to you despite the price fluctuations that happen in the bitcoin ecosystem. I have used it a lot in the past and it makes transactions that much easier.
